Business Objective

A major West Coast petroleum refinery contracted ALG to provide temporary onsite environmental staffing during a refinery maintenance and turnaround period event. ALG was selected based on its knowledge of applicable air compliance regulations, understanding of refinery processes, low-overhead, and our cost-effective project management.

Technical Approach

Collaborating with our client’s refinery and corporate environmental and engineering staff, ALG was tasked to:

• Attend and participate in staff meetings (as one of the compliance team).

• Propose, evaluate and rank new storm water program best management practices.

• Coordinate the review and submittal of routine inspection reports in a timely and complete manner.

• Organize and prepare multiple semi-annual MACT reports.

• Review and update multiple compliance tracking tools and spreadsheets.

• Facilitate the close-out of audit findings for several major compliance programs (inclusive of local and federal regulations).

• Create several new compliance procedures.

• Support ongoing permitting actions.

Results

Due to its expertise in air compliance requirements, ALG was able to seamlessly incorporate itself with refinery environmental staff, successfully assist the client accomplish all compliance obligations during the maintenance and turnaround period, complete al tasks with minimal oversight, as well as maintain costs to a minimum.
